As long as you are mature enough to handle the sexual content, this book is great for any age. I feel that the violence, though scary is tame enough for mature 12 year-olds and teenagers. I am 13 years old and I found this book perfect for my age group after my English-Language Arts teacher recommended it to me. Though fans of this book will also find her other novels satisfactory. It is much different (and frankly much better) than her previous novel 'One of Us is Lying'. This novel was awesome! I have never been as interested in a mystery novel before, but this one had my attention to the end! The author did a fantastic job of connecting the plot and keeping you guessing until the end. Overall, Two Can Keep A Secret is a perfectly-paced, diverse and exciting book that keeps you guessing till the end and I highly recommend it. This book also contains good POC and LGBT representation. There's quite a decent bit of violence but that was expected. There are some mentions of sex, nothing too vulgar but a character mentions losing her virginity and there's some other usual stupid-teenager stuff.

The book does contain frequent swearing but chances are that most people who read this book will already have been exposed to this type of language - not only that, but as the characters are mostly teenagers, the language is realistic.

The plot twist was unexpected and thrilling, and as someone who doesn't typically enjoy books with many plot twists, I really liked this book. All the main characters are likeable people and various other characters are presented as good role models. I really enjoyed this book, it got me back into reading after a slump and once I picked it up I couldn't put it down.
